Weavers of the Mahal design use the asymmetrical or Persian knot, giving their rugs exceptional softness and flexibility. Natural dyes are used to give the rugs their rich colors. This particular rug was made in the Sultanabad village by women weavers and brought to the bazaar for sale. The wool of the Mahal rugs is hand spun from the weaver’s own sheep.The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same item, slight differences should be expected.
